Amanda Krieg Thomas
Amanda Krieg Thomas has been passionate about the intersection of music and storytelling all her life, from writing fiction and singing in choirs as a child, to producing stage musicals in college, and finally moving across the country to begin a career in music supervision. Since then she has worked tirelessly in the field for over 15 years, collaborating with top-level creators in film and television.
Current projects include the latest installment of the Monster anthology series for Netflix, centered around Lizzie Borden, as well as thriller The Shards (FX) based on the Bret Easton Ellis novel, both from Ryan Murphy Productions. She’s also working on animated series Mating Season (Netflix) from the creators of Big Mouth, as well as Off Campus for Amazon, based on the best-selling hockey romance book series. She recently completed work on family film My Weird School (Nickelodeon), thriller The Beauty (FX) and buzzy legal drama, All’s Fair (Hulu).
Amanda’s diverse body of work ranges from young adult fare, such as raunchy coming of age indie film Plan B (Hulu) and thriller Panic (Amazon) to subversive, dark comedies like The Shrink Next Door (Apple TV+) and Claws (TNT) to animation with Big Mouth (Netflix) and Human Resources (Netflix) to prestige dramas like Monster: The Ed Gein Story (Netflix), Feud: Capote vs. The Women (FX), Dopesick (FX), The Patient (FX), and Halston (Netflix), which earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Supervision in 2021. She has also worked on network comedies and dramas including Dr. Odyssey (ABC), Life In Pieces (CBS), Proven Innocent (Fox) and Reverie (NBC). Musicals are also dear to her heart, and music supervising the 2020 film adaptation of The Prom (Netflix) starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Ariana DeBose was a career highlight. Amanda has been nominated for 10 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work on projects including country music drama, Monarch (Fox), Pam & Tommy (Hulu), Pose (FX), Hollywood (Netflix), Big Mouth (Netflix) and The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (FX), winning one for docu-series, The Andy Warhol Diaries (Netflix).
She started her career in the trenches at Lionsgate, Endemol Shine North America, Format Entertainment, and Neophonic Music & Media. It was at Format where she first made the transition to a music supervisor role; highlights there included performance competition show, Fake Off (truTV) and the 2015 American Girl “Girl Of The Year™ film, Grace Stirs Up Success (American Girl/Mattel) starring Olivia Rodrigo. At Neophonic, Amanda worked alongside PJ Bloom on projects such as the critically-acclaimed The Americans (FX) and The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (FX).
In November 2018 Amanda went out on her own, forming Yay Team Productions, Inc. Since then, she has also been fortunate to work on such projects as Monsters: The Menendez Brothers Story and The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (Netflix), The Politician (Netflix), Ratched (Netflix), 9-1-1 (Fox), American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez (FX), family holiday film, Best. Christmas. Ever! (Netflix) and multiple seasons of the American Horror Story, American Horror Stories and American Crime Story franchises for FX.
Amanda regularly shares her knowledge at conferences and events worldwide, including South By Southwest, MUSEXPO, BIGSOUND Australia and the Durango Songwriters Expo, in addition to hosting a monthly free chat series through Yay Team, and authoring the e-book Thinking In Sync: A Primer on the Mind of a Music Supervisor. She is a proud graduate of Northwestern University (Go Cats!), a member of the Television Academy, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Guild of Music Supervisors. Anna Romanoff
Anna Romanoff is a Music Supervisor at Yay Team Music. She works on everything from contemporary YA series to 1800s period pieces to adult animated comedies. She believes the best work comes from collaboration - sharing ideas, trading tracks, and working with kind people who love what they do. She has always lived in Los Angeles, and will probably never leave.
Current credits include Off Campus (Amazon), 9-1-1: Nashville (ABC), the latest installment of Monster (Netflix) and Mating Season (Netflix), all alongside Amanda Krieg Thomas. Past supervision credits include High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (Disney +), Dr. Odyssey (ABC), past installments of Monster (Netflix), American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez (FX), Saturday’s (Disney +), American Horror Stories (FX), Human Resources (Netflix) and 9-1-1 Lone Star (Fox). She also supervised indie films 15 Cameras and The Country Club.
Anna previously worked at Neophonic Music & Media and Christine Bergren Music Consulting where she learned from some of the best.
Joella Waldman
Joella Waldman is a Music Coordinator at Yay Team! Previously, she worked at Fifth Season (fka Endeavor Content) under Amos Newman and Tess Castro. She supported the music team on numerous projects such as Severance and Chief of War, both on Apple TV+, and East of Eden and His & Hers (Netflix). Currently, she is working alongside Amanda Krieg Thomas and Anna Romanoff on The Shards (FX), Monster (Netflix) and others.
During her undergraduate studies, she ran the college radio station WBRS 100.1 FM and helped organize live music events on campus. Growing up in Hungary and The Netherlands, she was exposed to many different genres of music at a young age with her parents also playing Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles and Miles Davis amongst many others at home.
In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking and going to concerts, plays, comedy shows and everything in between.
Robert Carter
Robert is the Executive Assistant for Yay Team! He is a music industry professional who specializes in marketing, operations, and brand strategy. He supports organizations and artists by managing projects and developing strategies that help creative work succeed. Robert is known for his calm, organized approach, which brings clarity and momentum to fast-paced, artist-focused environments. His experience includes marketing, brand development, project management, and operations, always with respect for the creative process and its contributors. Currently, he is working alongside Amanda Krieg Thomas and Anna Romanoff on The Shards (FX), 9-1-1: Nashville (ABC), Mating Season (Netflix) and others.
Outside of work, Robert is an ambient piano composer and has been playing jazz and classical piano for nearly 25 years. He is also a science and math enthusiast, and studied Geophysics in university.
